    Noto
    Located less than 40 miles south of Syracuse, Noto boasts one of the most beautiful towns in Sicily. The main street, Corso Vittorio Emanuele, is a neat driveway lined with magnificent palaces and baroque churches. Beautiful at any time of day, is particularly striking in the early morning when the buildings are a dull yellow-copper and seem to shine du own light.

    And now the Villa Romana del Tellaro, home to some fascinating mosaics. The building was largely destroyed by fire in the fourth century AD, but accurate excavations have unearthed fragments of the original mosaic floor depicting hunting scenes and episodes from Greek mythology.

    The reserve is composed of three different wetland areas and some spiacce beaches. From the main entrance (indicated on the road Noto-Pachino), it takes around 10 minutes to walk to the nearest dislike, where you can choose one of the paths along the coast. The reserve, which boasts a fifteenth-century castle and an establishment for abandoned tuna processing, is an important area umidadi interesesse naturalistic and offers protection to many species of resident and migratory water birds, including the Knights of Italy, storks, wild geese and flamingos. Birdwatchers will find huts from which to observe them at ease birds without disturbing them.
